Debate Curriculum

18 textbooks and workbooks. 960 articles. 136 activities.100+ teacher materials. 20 training videos. 3 years. 12 international developers. $1M budget.

As Program Manager and Lead Instructional Designer, I spearheaded the end-to-end development of a comprehensive debate curriculum spanning 18 textbooks, 18 student workbooks, and hundreds of teacher resources—including training videos, lesson plans, and assessment tools. This multi-year initiative was designed to elevate critical thinking, communication, and civic engagement across diverse learning environments.

The project achieved a 96% satisfaction rate among educators and parents, and led to a 79% reduction in teacher complaints compared to the previous decade’s average—underscoring its effectiveness and ease of implementation. My role encompassed strategic planning, content architecture, stakeholder coordination, and iterative design, ensuring pedagogical rigor and classroom relevance at every stage.

Teacher Training Video Sample

When launching the new textbook series, I developed a series of videos helping teachers understand how to use the books effectively in the classroom. This video demonstrates how to take book content and create an engaging classroom environment without using common crutches such as treating the book as a script or popcorn reading.

Planning and Development Materials

I developed planning materials for the 3 year project, including detailed unit structures, content guides for article writers, roles and responsibilities documents, timelines, design guidelines, and all gap analysis, surveys, focus groups, and research that informed my approach.
